The thing about getting medical insurance is, you never know if you’re going to need it. You can spend ages worrying about whether you might get ill, and stay healthy for years. So what’s the point at all? Well, I had to get a new job last year after my old company went under. It was dead stressful at the time – finding a new job and that – but looking back it really was a god send. The place I’m at now is much better career wise and more in tune with the way the world is going. Online, I mean.

Anyway, part of the package is medical insurance for the employees. I thought medical insurance was just a fad at first but it actually is a really great incentive for staff because it recognises that people do actually get ill, and need seeing to by a good doctor straight away. And it starts making you think about your own health and how you should take care of yourself. I even think I would take up a private health insurance policy if I ever left where I’m working now. You never know what’s round the corner, after all
