Technical Specifications for the "Pharmacy" Module

Pharmacy Workflow

1. clinic worker adds drugs to be prescribed through clinic visit screen. Initial status is "pending".
2. pharmacist "edits" the prescription on the prescribe page of the pharmacy, changing things if necessary. Prescription status goes from "pending" to "printing".
3. the label printer server prints the label, and changes the status from "printing" to "printed".
4. Pharmacist fills the prescription. Status goes from "printed" to "filled". At this point the quantity of pills in the prescription is no longer considered to be contained within the pharmacy inventory.
5. End of prescription life:
   1. Pharmacist or clinician wants to stop a prescription, status goes to "discontinued".
   2. Prescription expires, status goes to "expired"
   3. The last refill for the prescription is made, status goes to "out of refills"
